Only once- the bad alternator of a couple weeks ago. All other failures
have been annoying in nature, or at least non-catastrophic-- we've always
been able to get home. Even with the alternator problem I was able to get
3-4 miles to an auto parts store.

I have a number of annoyances that need repaired, and those may well cause
a real problem if I don't deal with them, but in general I've found my 86
5k quite trustworthy.

It's even got a habit of fixing itself, which is quite odd, but
explainable.

I've put a total of about $6kUS in to the car over two years of ownership,
including the purchase price and a full suspension rebuild/bushing
replacement, not bad at all, IMO.
