86 4000csq problems

hello everyone,
i'm new to this and have some questions re my car. 1986 4000 cs quattro
alpine white grey leather with aprox 175,000mi. spedo doesn't work.
i'm thinking of switching to mobile 1 synthetic oil. pro's con's?
also sun roof is now not working properly. the pass. side is lower than the
dr. side.
made some metal sounding skipping noises. i basically know what it is but not
how to fix it without jumping into it. just don't want to screw it up.
also my subframe bushings in the rearend are gone. shop time is too long and
$.
i've heard of people puting in spacers?
any comments and/or words of advice greatly appreciated
