Ok, my new to me 90 200q. Lots of new parts. The car was owned by
someone that babied it its entire life and replaced nearly
everything. Anyway, the reason why I added that in was because of my
suspicion that the fool pump must have been previously replaced, but
was noisy. I didn't experience poor performance, just noise. Lots of
it. I decided to pull the pump and replace it with one of my known
good german units from my collection. The pump in there was the damn
Czech unit bosch made that was known to be noisy. Anyhow, I wanted to
know if they were ever installed from the factory, and when they were
made. The case looks the same, but the pickup is different from the
5000 style pumps I have (but they're probably the same). Anyhow, good
job on the newer baffling. Also, the original screen was on it, as
well as the baffle screen that encloses it. Both were pretty dirty.
So was the tank. Hopefully the used check valve from my old car cures
the starting issue...
