I think dimly glowing warning lights are enough. I was teaching my
daughter how to drive a stick. After she killed it about the 5th time
she turned the key to start and everything went dead. The battery
failed open (Diehard). I tried to push start it thinking the
alternator would kick out a little juice but no luck. When I got done
trying to start it I was half way home so I pushed it the rest of the
way.
I have another car that the owners manual says I will damage the
catylitic converter by push starting it. What is that all about?
