Larry-
On my 5ktq, when the pad warning came on, I had maybe 100 miles, maybe
less
before the rotors started to get scored.

Because I was getting new rotors and pads, I didn't really care, but
that would
have been really bad otherwise.

Posting for a friend.

Friend has had his brake wear indicator (Autocheck) at 110 K miles.
Brake

pads are actually worn (it works!). Two questions:

Anyone with any experience on how far one can go SAFELY (in terms of
rotor wear) on the pads before rotor damage would likely occur? (Looking
for a range of experience, as I don't have any in this area, I've
usually replaced my pads by now 'cuz I'm hard on my brakes)

Any other sources of wear indicator pads besides AoA?

Obviously, he needs to know soon.

TIA,

LL - NY
