Fw: Master or Slave Cylinder?

I didn't explain myself too well. I suspected that the M/C was the problem
because when I could get the pedal back I could operate the clutch. Mine got
so bad that I could pump and it would work but then it just went to the
floor and stopped. It was not the external return spring, it was the
internal return spring inside the M/C and the spring had snapped inside so
it at best only pushed the piston back so far. If it's your Daily driver
then its a PITA to strip and find this isn't the fault. I was lucky, I did
change the M/C ( BTDT before = 2.5 hours i.e, second car to be changed) and
cured! HTH
