1990 200 TQA problems

Greetings,
I've just become the proud owner of a 1990 200 turbo quattro avant (10V).
Great car.but I have a few problems.
1. low beam headlights do not work.(Parking and high lights work)
fuses are okay (2 10amp)any relays?
2. Coolant temp gauge doesnt work. maybe sending unit? if so is there any way to trouble shoot?
if it is bad where is it located?
