Regarding emissions, is the only job of the muffler or
mufflers to silence the exhaust ?
Will an engine get the same emissions reading at the
the cat as it will at the tailpipe?

I am thinking of installing a custom cat back exhaust
with a single dynomax muffler and I am concerned with
emissions.
How is the noise with a single dynomax muffler?
Anyone?
I have to pass Mass. emissions.
I am talking about a stock N.A. 2.2 liter 5cyl (JT?
code) in a 87 4kq.
