I have a 1984 4000sq that was a rust free, regular driver until recently
when it was caught in a flash flood (Raleigh, North Carolina). The car
had 160,000 miles on it when the odometer quit a year or two ago, mostly
in Washington (state), Texas and North Carolina. It had a few new or
fairly new parts, i.e. alternator, cat-back exhaust, D60A2 tires,
radiator (re-core). Initially, most of it worked with the exception of
the driver's side door handles (ha-ha), the cruise control and the AC,
which needed a re-charge. I actually have a replacement door handle for
it, but never got it installed.

The water came up to about glove box elevation so the radio was drowned,
as were the console switches and the starter. It still runs (push
start), but something is shorted in the ignition system so that the
accessories won't shut off. Of course, the carpeting smells pretty foul.

My question is what to do with the car as I can total it or take a
pittance from the insurance company and keep it. Any interest out there
in this car or parts of it?

regards
Steve Addy
