Programable Intermittent Wiper Relay

Um, what mod???

My Mother-in-law's '94 Golf had this feature, and to the best of my
knowledge, my '90 V8 doesn't, nor does my Wife's '98 A6 - but I could be
wrong! Like I said - "to the best of my knowledge"!

Now, there's nothing I'd like more than to have my best knowledge improved
in this way!

Does the '90 V8 and/or the '98 A6 have this "programmable intermittence" in
the wiper delay???

Please, someone - lead me out of the darkness and ignorance!

Just did the quick 30 sec mod, but don't recall how to program the thing. Is
it, wipe to the intermittent setting, release, wait until you want another
swipe, wipe again and leave in intermittent mode? Or is it something else?
Patient is an '89 200Q, if that even matters.
