I bought my 86 w/80K. At 400K (four hundred) I've never changed it.
Pedal really mushy. Vauge shifter feel. I can get the gears to engauge.
"H" pattern is twisted CCW a bit. Little pedal travel engauges the movement
of the car smoothly.
People who replace clutches DRAW THEM OUT........If you cann't start off at
idle without stalling it you'd better learn how too.

P.S. Yeah, I've stalled it a few times too. Hilly areas like SF and
Seattle need extra RPM.
I even stalled a students car yesterday at the track but the car was still
rolling (forward) when I restarted and let it out again:
1.8 Passat Turbo.

I got the car at 154k, and it's now pushing 173k, so I don't have the feel
of a
fresh 4kq pressure plate for comparision. Am I right in understanding that
4kq
clutches are normally good for ~250k? Ballpark idea how much longer mine
might
be good for? TIA
