At Watkins Glen, you can go through half your pads in 2 days of
driving on that track; at every lap, you're doing two seriously
intense braking zones, from very high speeds(I think I've hit 110 on
the back straight) down to ~50mph.

When we tech vehicles for the events, we give a good look at the
pads- if they've got less than 50%, we caution them to check their
pads after every run group and keep a close eye on wear.  If they're
thinner, and we're at the Glen, they're told to get a new set of pads
and present the car for tech again.

But if we're talking street stuff, yeah, I'd say 4 months is REALLY fast :-)
