Hi Larry/Scott/All,
I haven't yet experienced any great quattro/traction stories due to the
"little girlie" winter we had in Montreal last year. But I did get to play
in the snow (and recently on a twisty dirt road) and find out how the 4kq
handles in positions 0,1, and 2.
In 2, in low traction, the car can get quite tail-happy. In 1, slightly less
so, and in 0, even less tail-happy. Does a Quaife/Torsen in front (to
replace the open front diff) lessen the tail-wagging? My gut feeling is yes
in pos. 2. Who knows what might happen in pos. 0, and 1?
Somebody, (Scott?) on the list has a front Torsen in a quattro. Any handling
stories?
Cheers,
Brady Moffatt
