i have an '82 4k, nothing fancy, 1.7l hamster mob motor, 5 speed 'box.
it is the original little ol' lady car w/ less than 90k on the now-dead
clock. i have been in bmw's for some time now, so i am not impressed
with the performance (or care to improve it, for that matter), and only
want to figure out why the heater blower motor won't work unless i
hot-wire the switch. any tips would be appreciated. as to the honda
power steering fluid formula- it is glycol-based, with petroleum
additives. straight dino stuff (atf, etc.)will effectively kill a honda
p/s system, first the seals, then the pump and hoses (or vice-versa).
many years in a honda shop have shown this to be true. don't know and
have never used honda fluid as a petosin substitute- so yer on yer own,
brothers. as for magic stop leak cooling system stuff- yes it may work
and yes it will cause eventual problems in the system- how soon is
subject to many variables. all lead to usually expensive problems, more
so than the original problem. and a leak is a leak- internal or
external. glad to be aboard and interested in the marque- i won't drive
anything but german autos, old ones, at that. '82 4000e (runs somewhat
good), '87 635csi/l6 (soon to be up and running), '80 528i (dead, and
going to recycler soon)
that which does not kill me makes me stronger-f. nietzsche after all
this i am still alive-m. burkhardt
