97 A6 rear brake hose

I just had the passenger side rear brake hose blow on my 97 A6 high mileage
quattro (145K).  The dealer tells me that it is rare for that to happen.
My mechanic tells me the hose is a tad short and if the car is put on a lift
and suspension hangs down, it may well have been the hose stress that lead
to the break in the line.  I plan to change the other rear hose just in
case.
