Interesting.

I'm about to try a Phantom Grip in my CGT. I'm going to put it in my spare
tranny just in case. However, there are many rallyist using it and swearing by
it, including national champions.

It might be a total different story for a street car, but PG has different
springs that go with the unit. The more tension on the springs the more
transferring traction from one side to the other. PG also has lifetime
warranty.

If anyone else is interested, I can contact the shop where I'm going to buy
it, and ask for a group discount. They already offer below the PG website, and
don't charge any extra for the racing springs.

If I end up not happy with the results, I have the plan B. I already bought a
V8 rear clip, and I'll try the V8 Torsen in the front. However, there some
issues to resolve. One is the size of one of the bearings. It does not exist
with the correct specs, trust me on this, so I'll have to machine one side of
the V8 differential to an existent bearing size. The other side is piece of
cake, it's the same all over 093 and 016 trannys. The next issue are the
axles. I would have to machine the outer tip of each side to match the length
and the splines of the CGT's CV. I really think that it can be done, but it's
a next year or never (if PG works) project.

So, if someone is interested in a group buy, email me off list. The list price
is $349+$30 if you want racing springs. I think it can be done for something
like $300.

Later,

Carlos
