vw 1.8 timing belt change

So, is removal of the crank pulley required to do the job on my
dad's 92 golf? If it is, I just prefer to use the proper tools.
Zelenda is pretty close to me, so I can just drive out there. What
are the #'s for the crank and cam tools?
