Fuel pump relay location on '85 4ksq

Thanks Huw!

I've got a problem that I can't understand. let alone pursue a resolution
to:
The fuel pump that I was trying to get working is intermittent. The car
often won't start when it's cold, although it cranks strongly.

Also, it dies if it idles for more than a cope of minutes, or if it's warmer
than about 65 degrees outside. The fuel pump
s only about one year old, and it was replaced because, at that time, the
car died in hot conditions and the mechanic said it was shot.

Could I have problems inside the harness, or with connector, that behaves
the way I've described?

Even yesterday, when I shorted across the pump relay, to get the pump to
run, it wouldn't start. Two minutes later, with the relay back in place, it
started like a champ.

I don't like "gremlins."

TIA!

 ~ Doug

I'm sorry, that's because it is called "Jetronic".

By pulling gently straight up, and wiggling a tiny bit side to side.

Uh oh... hopefully you didn't let the pixie dust out of anything important.

Eh, you don't need that thing. It's just there to coax you to drive for
better fuel economy. I can't remember if the 5k had one, but it
probably did, if it was from the early to mid eighties.
