HP Valve Springs breaking?

Last summer I rebuilt my 85' Audi Coupe GT's engine, which with close to
280,000 miles was about time. I used an engine from a wreaked coupe that
seemed to have lower miles on it, then my car had. But to be safe I had a
machine shop do all the work and rebuilt the engine from the ground up. The
last machine work that was done, was to the cylinder head. So I decided that
this was the place to spend a little more money. So I had the head milled
down and ported and polished. I was planning on installing a BLAUsport 272
camshaft after my wallet had recovered and after the new engine was broken in.
So this is where the High Performance valve springs come into play. I was
told that with the new cam that I was going to install that I should go ahead
and spend a little extra money when I had the cylinder head work done by
getting new HP Valve Springs installed while the head was disassembled. So I
went for it. When I was buying the new HP springs the person I bought them
from asked me what cam shaft I was using, because he said it would be a waste
of money if I was going to use the stock camshaft.
Well the car ran great for about six months, so I had the sport camshaft
installed. This is where things went weird. About two weeks later my car
started to have cold start problems and then it went further down hill from
there. So I took it in and my mechanic tested the compression and told me
that I had no compression in cylinder number 2. So I needed a valve job. The
reason he thought this may have happened was that when I had the head work
done maybe one of the valve did not seat properly.
But the surprise came when he took the valve out and found that the springs
were broken and that other valve springs were broken also. I could not
believe it, I had spent extra to ensure that this would not happen and it did
any way. He said that he would sell me a used set of stock springs that
should work just fine with the 272 camshaft.
Finally this is my question...
Does this happen to anyone else, that uses HP valve spring?
Also should I be able to a least get my money back for the valve springs that
broke after seven months of use?
Your comments would be greatly appreciated,
