Inexpensive Pentosin substitute?

Ben and Sean, I have had some luck with a mineral oil transmission leak
sealer in my 86 5ktq. I plan to completely redo the hydraulic system in my
car "shortly", after which I will fill it with the proper stuff. In the
meantime, I don't want to waste the expensive stuff and so I use a bottle of
this tranny sealer every couple of months, and I am running tranny fluid as
the hydraulic fluid. Before anyone gets medieval on me, I did a bit of
research and it is an 'acceptable' substitute, but obviously not ideal. The
tranny sealer DOES WORK. After a bit of driving, my system actually stops
leaking completely for quite a while, but then does start leaking again.
The tranny sealer that I bought was from Canadian Tire and labeled under
their proprietary Motomaster brand. The bottle clearly labels it as mineral
oil.
You should be able to find something similar at your Can Tire equivalent
down in the States.

Good luck and HTH

Stephane
