Punch this guy in the tights!  He's hiding something.
Sounds like product liability and if he's protecting the manufacturer,
he's involved.  Either that or HE installed them WRONG.

-Scott in BOSTON  document the VW links mentioned before about like springs
failing due to improper manufacturing process and arm yourself to go from
there.
Small claims court.  Write a 30 day demand letter.  Check your states rules.
Some states like MA, if the defendant doesn't respond to a 30 day demand
letter as outlined by the states rules you can collect triple damages.
