i notice a deposit that sounds similar on the
starting-to-come-apart-at-the-seams ps pump hoses on my 90. it collects a
bit on the underside of the hose with the splitting seams [the seam that
kind of 'coils' around the hose]. it drips a little onto other components.

i noticed it reacing around the engine bay on the underside of the hose..
almost like dark tree sap in consistnecy. very sticky + thick. i assumed it
was what happens to the fluid when it heats / sits or something. check the
hoses.
