email client/browser recommendation

Just wanted to give a recommendation to people, especially those
using free programs like Outlook Express, or the lite version of
Eudora- give Mozilla(www.mozilla.org) a shot if you're curious some
time. It is a free, open-source project, closely related to the
Netscape browser in certain aspects(in fact, the latest Netscape
browser basically is an older version of Mozilla.)

The latest stable version has some nice anti-spam features in the
mail program part, including filtering you can train. The browser
half has some great features for web developers(and some
developer-oriented plugins, too, like the liveheader plugin), it's
got good popup blocking, cookie blocking, even configurable
image(banner) blocking...all sorts of fun stuff you won't find in IE.
I encourage people to check it out. Mozilla even has a webpage
editing tool(Composer) built in...

Note that the just-released version(1.4a) is considered 'alpha'
quality and probably not the best choice if you're going to use it
for mail, so make sure you grab a 'stable' build(1.3 I think). If
you're feeling dangerous and just want to surf the web, 1.4a's
probably fine.

I'm pushing this because among other things, many versions of
Outlook/Outlook Express don't include proper thread/quote information
in the headers of emails. Outlook and Outlook Express are also very
vulnerable to all sorts of viruses and trojans; Mozilla, Eudora, etc-
aren't for the most part. It's also pretty easy to disable MIME/HTML
encoding in emails, which people have stopped doing, since the list
software filters it out(instead, we get the slightly annoying
"Filtered from MIME content type...." header, so yes, please still
make an effort to turn off that garbage, please?)

We now return you to your regularly scheduled mailing list...
