Wow,

You all are great I thought that I was going crazy about my problem. Carlos
you did get it right, my personal mech that works on the car was not the one
that sold me the HP springs. He was the one who fix my engine and told me
that he thought that stock springs should be fine and that they will last at
least 200,000 miles. The person that sold me the HP springs is the one that
said they would work best with a 272 camshaft.

I did not want to tell you all who the person is because I did not know that I
was getting screwed so bad but know I will tell you all.

His name is Maximillian McDonald and he works and owns the shop called Audi
Volkswagen Specialists (AVS) in Adna WA.

I did call TT in Oregon and they said that if they were their springs they
would give me my money back, but I would have to go though AVS. When I told
Max this he told me that he did not buy them from TT, instead from a german
company but still would not tell me who.

To answer the question about valve float above 5k, I have not taken my engine
up that high yet. I am sure you all understand that since I just forked out
$600 for the valve job. But the engine is very strong. The one thing I like
most is on the freeway I do not have to shift out of fifth you get passing
power I just push on the gas.

Once again thank you for all your input, and if any one has any ideas as how I
could find out the manufacturer of the HP springs or just maybe we could just
list the possible choices and I could call them and see who sold to AVS.

Dave,

The seller is the one screwing, the mechanic is the one that suggested the oe
springs. Two different people.

However, I agree with the other post who's this guy?

I would give him a 2nd chance, if he's still screwing, I would black ball the
name.

Later,

Carlos.

>I'd say the reason he doesn't want to give you the manufacturer info is that
they would agree that the repair should be "in warranty." This would be
totally unacceptable to me. You paid extra for a high performance part based
on his recomendation at the time. The part failed prematurely. It should be
covered. Also, why did he at first recomend the HP springs, then later tell
you that stock springs would be fine with a 272* cam? If he was so sure you
could run stock springs...why the hell did he sell you the HP springs? I
wouldnld call him on this big time. At least dememand to get the
manufacturer's contact info.... This should have cost you zero, zip, silch,
nada...
