power steering pump o rings

On my 87 5KT, I am having the trouble of the orings under the threaded
caps for the relief valves, keep breaking and leaking everywhere.
It is the same one that has done it twice now, and I just replaced it
again so I can get to work in the am
I do not have the factory orings, but I am using top quality items from
a hydraulic supplier
They fit good, but I did notice that the original one was flat instead
of round.  Could this be the trouble, or is it because of the
fluid/oring combination?
I am looking at getting a power steering pump rebuild kit, but I don't
know if the orings that I need are included, or is it just for the pump
itself.
I will hopelully find out that answer tomorrow
Any input would be appreciated, as I just got the leaks in the pan
stopped, and now I have oil all over the driveway again.  The wife is
not impressed
