I recently "unlocked" the radio on my 91 100. according to Bentley the
radio doesn't permanently lock, even after several wrong tries. The book
says after 2 wrong tries the radio will lock...but not permanent. you then
leave the radio on for an hour which resets the radio and gives you 2 more
tries.
In my case I got the serial number from the radio and my local Audi dealer
gave me the code number from that serial number. I didn't have the correct
code because the previous owner had the radio replaced with a rebuilt but
neglected to save the new code..........it all ended well:)
