unlocking audio stereo

Actually I think it's 3 attempts on the coded radios installed in the
type 44's, and it isn't permanent.  Either leave it on for 2-24 hours in
the car, or connect the leads to a  12 volt source and leave it on.
After 2-24hrs (varies depending on type of radio and year), it will
unlock from safe mode so that you can enter codes again.

The radio that seems to lock permanently is the Panasonic Wiesbaden, and
I've never seen one of these in a type 44 (which is the type the lister
was inquiring about.)  I've tried everything with the one in my 90Q and
cant' get it unlocked.
