I just finished reading 'The Last Open Road' by B. S. Levy. It is a
story written about a small town mechanic who gets involved in road
racing just after the 2nd world war. Has stories about Watkins Glen,
Elkhart Lake and other venues. Very interesting and shows maybe why the
SCCA is not held in very high regard by others in the sport.

BTW, I recommend this book to anyone who can remember why they got
interested in doing their own wrenching, and auto sports. He has 2 more
out and I'm going to look for them.

Cheers
George
