still no dash lights!

I wrote a while back about my non-existent dash lights. Well it's not just my
dash lights, it's pretty much all of the lights up front (console, radio,
climate control, glove box). I tried a few of the tricks you guys suggested
(turning on the lights before i turn on the ignition, opening the glove box
before turning on my lights) and nothing has worked. I found some broken wires
in the trunk hinge that had been previously repaired and re-taped them to make
sure that was not the problem. All the lights in the rear are good (tails,
reverse, license plate, brake).I've checked the wiring in the trunk
thoroughly. Got any other ideas?  It stinks not being able to see any gauges
or your speed at night.
