Steve-
I have not driven the W8 w/ sport pkg. so I can't tell you how that
drives, but I was really unimpressed with the W8 overall- the lack of
a manual transmission kills the driving experience IMHO and the car
simply feels very large and ponderous, possibly due to the big lump
under the hood.
The A6 2.8 is a slug, I hope the 3.0 is a bit better, but with the
weight
of the car, the 2.7 is a far better option. How about a CPO allroad?
With
the warranty and the lease deal, you'll get most of what you want for a
price
that isn't nearly as much as a new allroad and much lower than the S6.

My minivan lease is up and it's time again for a car. I test drove an A6
and it's too soft tho the power is adequate. ( cup hoder is terrible,
the salesman asked me to slow down) I prefer an avant but the 2.7 isn't
available in that version. Next step up would be the All Road but I dont
need all the stuff it offers. Whis the company would spring for an S6.
So I have a question for those in the know. How does a Passat W8 w/
sport options compare to the 3.0 A6. Might it fall in between that and
the 2.7, or is it something else. I don't really mind driving a VW but
would prefer an Audi.
Thanks in advance
Steve
