alternator squeals with new bearings. What else?

I mean perhaps the wrong shape "V", like with a US versus Euro belt
shape.  No matter what you do, it won't ride properly in the pulley.  I
actually shredded a few in 20-30 miles of driving each before I
discovered the right "continental" brand belts.

Another thing might be pulley alignment?  As in, are they exactly lined
up or is one fore or aft of the other? (or even a bit cockeyed?)
