Sport steering wheel on A6?

Just looking at the C&D website and looking at the comparisons.  There is
one with an A6 2.7T and the interior shot shows a sport (3 spoke) steering
wheel.  Is this a new option for '03?  It is the first I've seen of a sport
steering wheel in an A6.  I would like to pick up a used 2.7T in a couple of
years and was wondering if '03 was the first year for this or what?
