CGT digital to analog conversion issues

I've had my digi dash CGT for almost 12 years and really like the gauges.
I recall being totally shocked to find a digital dash in the first CGT I
ever seriously looked at, an Alpine/Red Comm Ed '86. I actually offended
a list member years later by referring to it as a german Cadillac.
(Oops, mended that fence.) I passed on that car but later bought a
Graphite/Red CE '86, then a second, then my current Alpine White/White
87.5.
I find that with a great deal of familiarity in any car I've owned, I
seem to know when I'm at or near redline and don't use the tach anyway.
And my digi dash has been totally reliable. I think I've replaced one or
two illumination bulbs and the rheostat is flaky, but that's not a
digi-dash specific piece.
To each their own. Seems it would be easier and quicker and likely
cheaper to get it working as original, then if you absolutely hate it,
you could change to analog later.
Just my 2 cents worth...
