I believe this is just the free market at work.  Your comments explain
the whole story.

Once upon a time there was just Autobahn, and Chris worked there.  He
left to start running an operation (Force 5) the way he wanted and with
the focus he cared about (or thought there was a market for). Now there
is just Force 5...

Chris must have been right about something!

Eh, except for Chris, Autobahn was a pain to deal with.  Couldn't go in
the yard to get stuff or even look for it unless he was the only one
there, etc.  Now at Force 5, it's more like "You want it?  Put the tools
back on top of the box when you're done."
