Brett-
The other thing to do, which is what my mechanic does for his
customers, is to have him order the wheels and tires, no problems
there and no problems returning them that way. We did this in order
to ensure that the wheels would fit a big brake setup.

Why? I'll tell you -exactly- why. Tire Rack lists virtually no wheels
that they claim fit the 200q20v- and the Borbet Type C is one of the
wheels they claim doesn't fit(naturally, if it's not on the list of
wheels that DO fit, it couldn't POSSIBLY fit!), even though Greg Amy,
Neil Swanson, and I know damn well it does. I could name at least half
a dozen wheels that listers know fit the 200q20v, but aren't listed as
fitting. When I want to see what various wheels in the 5x112 etc are
available+look like, I generally just put in some model year A4. It's
amusing that even between the various years of A4's the selection
changes.
The conversation I provided was one of two- the first was earlier in the
day, when I was told the Borbet didn't fit my car, and by the way, would
I be interested in the house brand(?!) wheel? Gosh, the sales rep
thought it was a really sharp lookin' wheel, and he had just sold that
very wheel to someone with a 200q20v a few days ago and they loved it?
I fired up the browser and looked at the wheel he was recommending and
claimed would match my tastes if I liked the Type C. It was a hideous
looking 18" chrome-plated, jagged-spoked wheel. Uh huh, that's really
like the silver painted straight-and-flat-faced spoke Type C...
