My mechanic and I need help. Seems my mechanic thinks my 1988 Quattro 5000=
, turbo, CSI, is getting too much fuel. Fuel pressure is ok, plugs new, in=
jectors replaced 2 years ago and so on. We both suspect the cold start inj=
ector but are reluctant to remove it as the allen screws are stripping out.=
We may make an easy job and test very difficult. Is it a reasonable assu=
mption that the cold start injector is bad and "dribbling" enough fuel to c=
ause flooding out at any speed including rough idle. This started immediat=
ely after a plug change but it does not seem to be related. We are changing=
plug wires next week. My mechanic does not have the computer readout tool=
s and the Snap-On cartridge only gives the fault codes and no other info. =
It is also $500.00 for just me which does not seem to be a good investment.
We have the Bentley manuals but they are not much help.
Thanks Al
