Depends entirely on your planned usage, Stephane.

If what you want to do is produce snapshot-sized photos for family and
friends and do some web posting, the Canon's 1.9 megapixels will provide
pretty good images. If you want to blow up images to 8 X 10 photo sizes or
greater, you'll find it difficult to get sharp pictures.

I've had a Nikon Coolpix 800 (about 2 megapix) ever since its successor in
the Nikon line came available, thus lowering the 800's price. I like
most everything about it except its pixel limitations and battery life (I
have rechargeable AA batteries in it, but it'll use a set up by the time I
take a couple hundred pix or if the camera sits unused for several
weeks. I keep spare recharged batteries, but they don't keep their full
charge forever either. Fortunately, I can recharge at an outlet or in the
car).

My next camera probably will be the Canon S400 because of its convenience
(will fit in a shirt pocket) and greater pixel capacity.
