Error code 2224 on MC-1...

Hi!

Got this code from someone with a 1989-1990 South African Audi 200 with
MC engine. It's not listed in the Bentley manuals as being shown on the
MC-1, but listed for the MC-2. For the MC-2 it says it's the hose from
wastegate frequency valve to dump valve. I'm thinking dump valve here is
actually the wastegate as none of the local cars had dump valves.
Anyway, I have him checking the hoses sometime soon just in case.

Can anyone shed light on ECU error code 2224 from '89/'90 5kt with MC
engine with single knock sensor?

The odd thing is that if his error code is correct and if he comes back
to me regarding the other error code (2142 - knock sensor on MC-1 or
knock sensor #1 on MC-2) and tells me that he has 2 knock sensors, then
I think I might just have found my first MC-2 down here. :) What an
interesting time the last 30 days have been! :)
