Flywheel pin information for KH motor

Yes I understand that every bit of inertia robs torque during acceralation. I have never driven a turbo motor with lightened flywheels so you are correct I am working on theory in that regard. I have driven wild NA cars with aluminum flywheels and multi-disk small diameter clutches. One accelerated so quick you had to leave your hand on the shift lever until you were in 3rd gear or you would slam the 9000 rpm readline. VERY fun, but I think I would last about 1 day before I was in jail with that particular car.
My point with the street turbo is the extra inertia of a stock flywheel, although not idea, does have a nice side effect of spooling the turbo faster. I am curious to those 4kqt owners out there with lightened flywheels. From a rolling start of say 1500 rpm do you build full boost in first gear? Javad I may be way off base as the wieght of the car may still be plenty to build boost with the low gears. The 4kq is a lot heavier than other things I have built in the past.
I do agree the JT flywheel certainly is a pig though. Todd I got the same weight when I measured the flywheel. I got another 13 lbs for the clutch and flywheel (on my $6 bathroom scale). Worst of all a lot of the wieght is at the rim. Worst of all my crank rang up at 60 lbs.
Back on the original topic does anyone have ideas on the diameter of the pin? Luke said about 3/4" long. I think I will just use what I have available for diameter since the sensor is just looking for a transient. I just don't have any 5k parts to reference.
Thanks
Eric

> Eric, I agree with Todd, unless you've ever driven a car with a "lightened"
flywheel, it will be tough to determine this on theory alone, its not a
black and white issue, and there is much to be gained by removing a
reasonable amount of weight (from the right area) from a very heavy stock flywheel.
