Alternator Electrical noise and Belts?

I throw them on the drag strip at ~7500 RPM regularly, every time it's the
same story, I shift from second to third and the alt. light comes on. Maybe
I'm doing something wrong? I used to use the best Goodyear belt I could
find, but after wasting 20$ on one every time at the track, I've been just
putting on the cheapest POS one I can get. I buy them in bulk for like 4
bucks from the Autozone by the track.
If your alternator is 205k miles old, has never been rebuilt, and still
charges....damn!
It probably just has tired bearings, replace or rebuild and you'll be a
happy man. Didn't you drive it through the car wash and ruin the bearings? I
thought I remember that happening to you, maybe it was someone else.
