Question: '89 200 FWD low idle

Hi fellow listers,
My '89 200 FWD is lately having low idle when stopped in traffic (around
850-900 rpm), and sometimes sounds like it's going to stall. Also the belts
sound like they're slipping.  Is there an (easy) way of putting the idle up
or is this covering something more important?.
