Oily filters

The current oil filter thread has gone on long enough that I'm moved to join
it.

I've used Amsoil filters (and their synthetic oil and lubes) in my cars
since 1977. Open one of their filters up and you'll see they put anything
else to shame. Each has a bypass valve and an anti-drainback valve. The
filtration material is much more substantial than any conventional filter.
Here's part of the website blurb: "Full flow design for extended drain
intervals and severe service. Contains a high-tech blended filtration media
composed of cellulose, synthetic and glass fibers."

This is not intended to be an ad for their filters, but I have found them to
be excellent. You can get them direct from the company website, so having a
local dealer isn't any problem at all.
