Heating problem with 90Q

Well, I'm still looking for the orifice valve (conical screen) in my 1993
90Q. If ANYone knows where in the AC system that stinkin' screen lives, I
would desperately love to hear about it. I have the Bentley manual for this
car on CD but have been trying for a month to get it to install and I can't
make it work. I'm stuck without better references. if anyone has the
Bentley and wouldn't mind checking to see if there's a diagram showing the
screen's location, I'd appreciate it.
PART II:
This 90Q drove 1800 miles from New York without a whimper, but as soon as I
replaced the AC compressor it has suddenly developed a habit of overheating.
This is bad, as temps have been over 90 every day for more than a month
here. I thought this over and realized that I have the AC compressor
unplugged while I wait to get the right drier for the system. I also notice
that the after-run function on the radiator fans is NOT working; after the
engine is turned off, the fans don't come on no matter how hot the motor is.
Questions:
1) where should I look first if the radiator fans don't run after the engine
is shut off? (Perhaps that 3-connector relay bar located in the LF corner?
I will note that the bottom connection on that relay bar has NO wires
connected to it. This looks deeply suspicious, but I have no manuals to
check it with...for the very frustrating reasons outlined above. (Anyone
got a wiring diagram fer that stinkin' relay bar?????)
2) If the AC compressor is unplugged so it's no longer in the electrical
system, does that impair the cooling system? Does it perhaps reduce fan
speed or have some other insidious effect?
Thanks for any help. I'm learning my way with the 90Q and not having any
manual for it is really torquing me off.
