The guy I used to take my cars to parked them out by the alley, which was
the access drive to his shop.  I got into the habit of taking everything
out of the car and putting it into the trunk after having several dollars
worth of change removed from the ashtray a couple times.  I suspect his
kids got into the cars with the keys, which he kept in the garage, but
sometimes he'd forget to lock the doors. Anyway, I'd give him the valet key
to operate the engine and keep the trunk locked.
