btw if you read about how the fsi engine works
you will see how drastically audi had to redesign their
engine to take advantage of the "swirling" air theory.
it includes special shaped pistons and direct injection.
look at an fsi diagram and compare to your car...
you will realise that any "swirling" will stop by the time
its in the combustion chamber.
part of the reason the audi performs so well with this
theory is that the swirling air and direct injection cools
the engine drastically allowing them to raise compression
drastically...
