CGT: Anyone BTDT on retrofit of Aero style headlights to earlier 4-lens style?

Starting to make a laundry list of mods to my newly-acquired 87.5 CGT, and
high on the list is lighting.  It's been a while since my '86 has been on
the road, and I had forgotten how lame the stock lighting was in these cars.

I know I can get ahold of Euro headlight units, but that would require
repositioning side markers.  If I am going to go to the trouble, I have
always preferred the looks of the earlier 4-light set up anyway.

To convert, I at least know I'd need the grill and headlight units from a
pre-85 car, but beyond that...anyone BTDT?
