Low Oil Pressure - 80Q

When I went to turn on my car this morning, it failed to start. This
did not surprise me immediately as I've been having a few problems with
my battery recently, and had been doing some electrical work. After
holding the key turned for about 10 seconds, the car finally started...
A half mile or so down the road, the low oil pressure light came on
and I pulled over. The dipstick read a bit low, and I thought it could
just be slightly low oil combined with a dying sensor. I added oil and
tried to restart the car. It would not start at all. I checked the
dipstick again and it read fine. I tried to start the car again and it
worked, but the low oil light stayed on. After a few more turn offs,
not-starting, dipstick-checkings, I slowly drove back to my house.
The car hasn't had any major problems recently (except the two back
windows fail to open, I've checked the wiring and it all tests well),
and this one has slightly confused me... The only other hint I have is
that when I would check the dipstick after starting the car the oil
would have covered a huge part of it - it covered more than half of the
entire dipstick. If the car was off when I checked, things would be at
a normal level...
Thanks in advance,
David
