Other than the 44 stuff and the UFOs, look for smoky exhaust.  At least
a few V8s went through valve seals and guides, and consumed large
quantities of oil.  (Ask me how I know...)  Top end rebuild is well over
two large unless you R&R the heads yourself-- and of course you'd do
seals, TB, water pump, and thermostat at the same time.  I can't comment
on the auto trans. ;^)

Good luck, these are wonderful cars.  I was whining about the heads and
steering rack to a buddy who has an older 911, and he said, "Yes, I
know, there are some cars that just bring a smile to your face."
