Wellllllll - I took a DEEP breath and did it - Just came home with a 1990
V8Q, pearl, black interior, sport seats, 140K miles, paid $2,600.
Car is quite solid, strong, no smoke, shifts correctly, even the alarm
works - needs a few minor items (heck, it's 13 years old!) which hopefully
won't bring the total cost to much over 3K (uh, huh, we'll see!)
Anyway, I suddenly realized just how much STUFF I've accumulated for the
pair of 5000's (both 1986, a 5K and a TQ), much of which won't fit the new
car. And of course, I really don't need THREE Audis, either. (Yes, I know
"only" three makes me a dilettante on this list), so the two 1986 cars are
going to go, along with a mountain of parts for older type 44 cars, some of
them brand new, that don't fit the new car.
So the two 1986 cars and all their spare parts are going to be for sale -
watch the marketplace!
And I am already looking for:
Service manual for V8Q (isn't this around on CD?)
Information on the built-in phone - is this worth using or should it come out?
Contents of first-aid kit (or a first aid kit box, I'll fill it)
Any other suggestions of the kind of things I really OUGHT to have
available (i.e. corresponding to the crank locking tool for I-5 timing belt
changes) for a V8Q.
Yes, I'm going to upgrade to AAA plus, as well.
Best Regards,
Mike Arman
