i dont know if you know this... but august horch was the original head
of production at benz when benz first needed mass production... number two
in
command who had bigger aspirations...
horch started in 1899, benz in 1886... benz wasnt a big producer until
1890s though.
horch began using weight reduction by using alloys in his first car in 1902.
my mistake... it doesnt say he was the first to use alloys for the purpose
of
lightening the cars, but it implies it wasnt used before at benz.
it sounds more like they were doing the same things around the same
time from what you said and i read.
